The HUMAN

What we are is not a body

What we are is not a mind

What we are is pure awareness:

conscious potential with bliss built in.

Everyone is female and male on the inside.

The exterior is just a shell,

the inner world is where we experience reality

and the inner marriage of Shakti and Shiva –

is the key to a life lived well.

It’s not where you go, it’s what you do there…

the world is split between those

who have learnt that sharing connection, love and joy is the goal

and those who can’t see that yet, who remain in their heads, issues, problems;

between those who see diversity and celebration,

and those who can only see difference and strangeness:

The latter group are in the majority, but the former have a lot more fun.

Church and State spent 1000 years

perfecting the art of mind control,

then brought us up in the 20th century

to do what we were told.

We were told life has no meaning

we were told to go to work

we’re told to be afraid, destruction lurks at every turn:

it seems we have been played

and now our planet burns.

Our minds are as polluted

as the rivers, air, land and seas.

A world of disconnect and dysfunction

created by just one species.

Like the mushrooms, humans are linked

by subterranean mitochondria:

our Underworld is our collective subconscious

an Ocean of hopes and dreams,

and like the magic shroom we have the gift within us

to open the doors to other worlds

and see that life is so much more interconnected

than on the outside it often seems.

For, what we are is not a body

What we are is not a mind

What we are is pure awareness:

conscious potential with bliss built in.

i am shokti, lovestar of the eurofaeries, aka marco queer magician of london town. i explore the links between our sexual-physical nature and our spirits, running gatherings, rituals and Queer Spirit Festival. i woke up to my part in the accelerating awakening of light love and awareness on planet earth during a shamanic death-and-rebirth process lasting from January 1995 to the year 2000, and offer here my insights and observations on the ongoing transformation of human consciousness, how to navigate the waves of change, and especially focusing on the role of queer people at this time.
