bringing the message of bless-ed, sacred unity
expressed through deviant divine diversity
a heavenly alphabet of identities
revealing all labels are forms of drag
life is a glitterball and we are the light…
beyond identity lies the sacred Self:
pass me the DRAG BAG:
born divine and defenceless
we enter the game of life…
we dress ourselves as male, female, in-between
we dress ourselves as black, white, red, brown and yellow
we drag up in religious robes
we find our tribes, we discover our roles…
we may even become homophobes
who are people afraid of the drag coming off?
Revealing the naked soul within
are they terrified of sin? –
SIN!
Made up by men to take control over others:
by men who were not ready to be bosom brothers
men who believed sex was only for procreation
men afraid of their own inclinations.
These men suppressed same sex love and gender non-comformity
to create their orderly and controllable society
but by making these things an impropriety
they turned their fears into the queers –
an oppressed underclass, trampled for centuries
but destined one day to remember…
there’s nothing unnatural about us
there’s nothing unnatural about our love,
and we know our love is not a sin:
Cast sin out, cast our doubt –
we’re all nature’s children
reveal the naked soul within.
Rising through Pride, Reclaiming our Power:
